The Matt Lewis Page
New to this site!!!

We all remember the adorable Matthew Butler (now Lewis) who, aged just five years old performed such a lovely rendition of the song 'Bright Eyes' on childrens TV show 'Tiswas.
Chris Tarrant still says that was one of his favourite ever features on Tiswas and I'm proud to announce that Matt now has his very own page on this website. We'll be adding lots to the page over the coming weeks so do please keep checking back and if you have any contributions to make then please get intouch.
We'd love to hear about your memories of seeing Matt on Tiswas, were you ever in the studio when he performed, did you see him when he went on the Tiswas tour, have you any photographs you'd like to share or do you have any questions you'd like to ask Matt?
Anything at all will be considered for this page and we'd love to hear from you.
As well as supplying some great pictures Matt will be writing about his memories of Tiswas and all the stuff he's been up to since. It's going to be a really fun and interesting page which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Millionaire Quiz To Hold Auditions

TV quiz Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is holding auditions to find new contestants.
Previously, viewers had to enter by phone or the internet and were randomly chosen to appear on the show. That method will continue but producers now want to choose contestants at audition.
Hopefuls must apply online for an audition place, explaining why they would make a "great contestant". Successful applicants will be invited to attend an audition, where they will be interviewed and asked to sit a general knowledge test. A spokeswoman for the show said the new initiative was designed to get "the broadest possible mix of people in the hotseat".
Host Chris Tarrant said: "We know there are hundreds of people out there who would make fantastic contestants but have never picked up the phone to try to get on, and we're coming to find them.
"It doesn't matter whether you're young or old, a plumber or a High Court judge, we're looking for all kinds of people to come and audition for their chance to sit opposite me and play for a million."
Contestants chosen via audition will not appear in the same shows as those chosen through phone or online entries. The auditions will kick off in Brighton on September 3. Over the next four weeks they will take place in Cardiff, Exeter, Chester, Nottingham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Newcastle upon Tyne, Glasgow, Belfast and Cambridge.

A Blast from The Past!!
I managed to get hold of these screen grabs of an old ATV Today clip of Chris in a fetching black leotard. I decided that younger visitors to the site who may have only ever seen Chris dressed in a smart suit would find it interesting to see exactly what Chris had to endure in the early days of his career!!!

Theatre Review
Bridge House Theatre, Warwick
24 June 2007
Chris Tarrant brought his one-man show to Warwick last night (24 June) and thrilled the audience with an entertaining look back over his life in broadcasting.
Armed with a vast selection of clips from his amazing 30 year career Chris took the audience on a 2 hour trip down memory lane. And what a wonderful trip it was.
Chris has done so much over the years that it must have been so difficult for him to choose which clips to show and what stories to tell but he got the balance just right. We were treated to clips from his early reporting days on ATV, through to his remarkable success with the quiz show 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire', incredibly now in its 9th year.
Chris Tarrant is a national treasure and this insight into his life, told in his own unique way was a pleasure to behold. He is a very funny man.
The story about his favourite contestant on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire', a window cleaner from Shoeburyness was my favourite of the evening and had the audience roaring with laughter.
After a question and answer session at the end of the second half, having been in the company of this tv and radio legend for over two hours the crowd still wanted more.
We all left the theatre that evening with great big smiles on our faces.

Chris on 'This Morning'
Thursday 14 June 2007

CHRIS Tarrant gets egg on his face — after a new encounter with the Phantom Flan Flinger from 1970s show Tiswas.
Chris, also famed for his flings, met him on ITV1’s This Morning yesterday ahead of a special reunion show tomorrow night.
The stunt also saw Tarrant “flan” the Flinger — plus someone wearing a Noel Edmonds mask.

Update 25 May 2007
Chris has been cautioned and the case is now closed!!!!
Following his caution, Chris said:
"I am very pleased that the police have handled the matter so efficiently, recognising that there was never any malice on my part, just a bit of amiable horseplay.
"I am glad that no charge has been brought against me and I can now put this over-inflated affair behind me."
